Cynthia Ann Crawford was born on the 20th of February, 1966. She is an American model, actress and TV personality. In the 1980s and 90s she was a renowned supermodel who was prominent on magazines and runways as well as in fashion advertisements. Later, she ventured into the business world and acting. She received a call in her sophomore year by a local clothing shop to do modeling. However, it was viewed as an ill-informed joke made by two of her classmates. Crawford was among the high school girls recruited by a different store, and also participated in a fashion shoot. In her junior year local photographer Roger Legel, whose duties included photographing a different college student to be the week's coed in the DeKalb Nite Weekly, asked to shoot her photo to be published in the magazine. The result was her first ever cover. [9] The photo and the favorable feedback the magazine received helped make her want to pursue modeling. At first, she was a part of an agency with a small size. It was acquired by Elite Model Management shortly after she signed. In 1983, she was a participant in Elite's Look of the Year contest aged 17 and reached the finals at national level.
