After being accepted into the Sylvia Young Theatre School for brief time however, Ford realised that this was not the best location for her. Ford was then able to apply to be a student at the Central School of Speech and Drama and was accepted on her 4th attempt. Shaun Dingwall - who later appeared as Pete Tyler in Doctor Who was among Ford's classmates. Ford was not able to complete her degree until 1993.
